Can some statistics help us to wake up?

Some alarming stats have come up based on a recent study conducted by The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) published in ‘The Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology’, Journal in June 2023. Some key findings are as follows – India is home to 31.5 crores people with hypertension, 10.1 crores with diabetes, 3.6 crores are pre-diabetic, 21.3 crores live with high cholesterol, 18.5 crores suffer from high LDL cholesterol or bad cholesterol, while 25.4 crores live with generalized obesity and 35.1 crores have abdominal obesity. These non-communicable diseases were also behind 65 per cent of deaths in India, and 40 per cent hospitalization, a study by Apollo Hospitals had revealed in April 2023. To put things in perspective, these percent would result in crores of people as India is the most populous country (with around 142 crores people) in the world.....
